The Power of Humor

What can you do with humor?

Sure you can have fun with it—or else why do people pay for the comedy shows and those comedy channels? You can also use it reduce tension, find a great bargain, keep your children in their seats…you name it.

There are a thousand and one use of humor, but it leads to an ultimate goal—laughter.

Laughter is powerful, and much more powerful than most people think.

You can make women laugh and fall in love with you.

That sounds like a pretty bold claim doesn’t it? Let me explain.

Human beings have an obsessive desire to remain consistent. It is physically impossible to dislike the person who has already made you genuinely laugh, as you can’t resolve the conflicts and incongruity between laughter (liking someone) and disliking someone.

In other words, women tend to get closer to a guy who has consistently made them laugh! This not only occur at a logical level (“oh, being with him gives me so much joy and I want more”), but also at a subconscious level (maintaining consistency).

Once you were made laugh by someone, it will be very inconsistent if you still maintain an antagonistic attitude towards that person.

Therefore, I use laughter to make women fall in love with me. The more women I could make laugh, the better get. You see, love is derived from the feeling of happiness and happiness is directly associated with laughter.

I’m sure in your entire life so far, you have made many, many, many women laugh, and sometimes you can get pretty good at it—sometimes with a particular woman or under some particular circumstances.

Maybe not.

Some guys talk about the “art” of making women laugh.

Sure, they can call themselves “artists” as they like, but the problem is… once something becomes an art, you won’t have rules to rely on and you can’t measure the results. Making women laugh suddenly becomes an uncertain event.

But the fact is…Making women laugh is a science.

The fact is… human beings’ reactions to different types of “humor stimuli” are predictable.

And there are tested-and-proven methods to match a humorous line and a subject’s education, personality, and cultural to create laughter.

Any man, regardless of looks, intelligence, education, personality, can learn the mechanism of humor and laughter and develop his own style of humor.

About the author

Laughter Is Good For You

Have you ever thought about laughter as healthy?

Over 25 years ago, Dr. Norman Cousins in his book “Anatomy of an Illness” described how watching Marx Brother movies helped him recover from a life-threatening tissue disease. “Laughter is an antidote to apprehension and panic,” wrote Dr. Cousins.

Can laughter improve your health? Yes! Medical studies have shown that laughter utilizes muscles throughout the body.

For instance, laughter exercises the lungs and circulatory system and increases the amount of oxygen in the blood. Laughter also:

Reduces muscle tension
Boosts endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers
Reduces levels of hormones and neurochemicals
Stablizes blood pressure

Increases heart rate
Provides a natural boost to the immune system
Amazingly, laughter also reduces stress.

Levels of epinephrine, the stress hormone which constricts blood vessels and suppresses immune activity–decrease in the body as a result of laughter.

In other words, laughter is a good way for people to relax! It is beneficial from the inside-out, and has no side effects.

Do you have respiratory problems? It may be possible to laugh them away. There have been incidences where a hearty belly laugh helped people with respiratory problems by clearing mucus and aiding ventiliation.

Laughter also gives your heart a good cardiac workout. Some hospitals have stand-up comedians and “clown kids” in attempts to speed their patients healing, recovery and boost morale.

Medical researcher Dr. Lee Berk found that laughter increased the activity of “natural killer cells” which destroy viruses and tumors.

Laughter also increased disease-fighting protein, B-cells, the source of a disease-destroying antibody, and T-cells which help cellular immune response.

Today is a fantastic day to laugh, learn, love, and grow. You can do it! Go ahead and laugh. It’s good for you.

Laughter Can Be The Best Medicine

Research scientists have spent considerable time investigating the effects of laughter. They have found that laughter can help patients recover

from illnesses because it tends to lower blood pressure, reduces stress hormone levels, and recharges the body’s immune system.

Laughter is also known to release the body’s natural painkilling substances to provide an overall feeling of well-being. This is a result of stimulating blood flow and aiding the heart.

It has been said that laughter has about the same benefits as aerobic exercise, but it comes without the pain sometimes experienced with physical activity.

Laughter also helps to control insulin levels and blood sugar levels, and while scientists don’t recommend that patients quit their diets or exercise regimens, they do say that laughing definitely helps.

Doctors have discovered that laughter also has an effect on viruses, bacteria, cancer and heart disease. They determined that their patients boosted their immune systems just by watching funny videos and movies.

Laughter is one of the first things we learn as babies. Scientists note that babies who smile the quickest were smiled at more in general.

If parents are happy and smiling, it is a given that the baby is likely to smile quickly as well. Much research on children has been performed, and scientists discovered that laughter helped with children’s ability to endure pain and was also effective in the healing process.

This is a valuable discovery for young cancer patients. Laughing relaxed patients who had to have painful procedures or who suffered from the anxiety of pain expectation.

Researchers have found that there are many positive effects from laughter, but no known negative effects.

Laughter really is the best medicine. Just thinking about something funny makes the hormones flow and the body has a positive and healthy response.

Experiencing stress without laughter reduces the ability of the body to fight disease because it suppresses the immune system.

A stressed body can’t fight infections and other disorders. Your body responds to emotions and feelings, so it’s good to laugh and release all the positive effects related to laughter.

Basically, the immune system is closely linked to the positives resulting from laughter. Laughing helps to fight disease.

Stress levels can be reduced through daily exercise and having good eating habits, and when laughter is added, things get even better. People who laugh a lot have reduced stress levels, and reducing stress is a major step in fighting disease.

A Time to Laugh

Whoever said laughter is the best medicine was taken very seriously. Laughter clubs have been curing stressed out Mumbai residents so successfully, they are springing up all over the world.

We all need the chance to laugh and release a bit of stress, even on vacation. Take a bit of time to visit Mumbai.

Hot, sweaty, sticky and frenetic, Mumbai doesn’t leap out as being a particularly amusing venue, but thanks to the side

-splitting wisdom of a Dr Madan Kataria, a number of ‘Laughter Clubs’ have been popping up to help us see the funny side of having your bags nicked at the train station.

In fact, their role in the healing world in the past few years has taken off to other far corners of the globe – the USA being one popular destination.

In March 1995, Kataria thought of writing an article on “Laughter, the Best Medicine” on the basis of a large amount of scientific literature that he found on the benefits of laughter on the mind and body.

Rather than publishing, he went to a public Garden in Mumbai and spoke to people about starting a Laughter Club.

Those interested (only a few) stood in a circle and, under Kataria’s expert guidance, invited each other to crack a joke. All went well for a couple of weeks until the jokes ran out. So Kataria set about developing ways to laugh impromptu

– no gags necessary. Such are the success of his methods that they are being imported elsewhere (visit the World Laughter Tour Website to find out more), but if in Mumbai anyway, it’s highly likely you’ll need to re-boot your sense of humour.

Although you can laugh with the professionals throughout the year, it may be best to go when Mumbai is a bit cooler than normal (April to June).

Laughter Is Best Medicine – Funny Videos Can Help Restore Laughter

Have you lost the ability to smile, and to laugh and to be happy?

In the past several years, many people have a reason to smile and be happy because of their investments. With the roaring super bull rally

on the cards in the stock markets, many investors worldwide have every reason to smile and be happy with the way their stock prices were going,

because the only direction stock prices were heading was up. But once the sub prime mortgage lending market fell, and housing investors could not service their loans, many americans lost their ability to smile.

Billions of dollars were wiped off the stock markets, the futures markets and forex markets. Instead of a smile, there was a spirit of heaviness, instead of laughter, there was a deep sense of doom and pain.

Have you lost the ability to smile and to laugh and to be happy?

It is a developing trend that in the pursuit of raising a family and in the pursuit of self achievement, most parents are working and are income earners.

If you are a mother, you feel the tremendous pressure of trying to cope with work and with the demands of the little children at home and in school. In the hustle of bustle of daily living, have you lost that ability to smile, and to enjoy a good laugh?

Sometimes it is not circumstances alone that make us live through life without the ability to see things in a brighter light and to enjoy a moment of laughter.

Recently, I read in the newspapers that there is hardly a female television personality who would make it to the beauty program of any established television if she is over 50 years unless she has had botox to help her maintain a feeling of youthfulness…

.but which may stiffens her appearance, and making her unable to show a sense of natural smile and laughter. While I do not know how true that is, we can in our pursuit of a sense of beauty, lose our ability to smile and laugh naturally by choice.

Instead, I was struck by the power of laughter and gaiety every sunday when I observed a very old lady at the church who was seemingly imbued with the ability to smile and laugh.

She would be having a laugh on her face, as she begins to dance around the pews of the church, waving her scraf in the air, oblivious to whatever is happenning – and enjoying herself.

All that she displayed was a sense of gaiety and freedom – freedom from the cares of this world when she started to lose herself in a deep sense of worship and of laughter.

Do we need triggers to help us regain the ability to smile and to laugh? After all, it is not just food that is the spice of life, but laughter makes the burdens light.

Look around you everywhere as you go about your work today. See beauty and life in the things around you. See love in the events that occur around you, and remember to smile and to laugh.

Did something odd and dreadful happened to day to make you sad? Look at the brighter side of things and smile. You will find the burdens lighter. Laugh and the whole world will laugh with you.

Just start to learn to laugh by consciously watching comedy videos, and funny movies and by seeing the lighter side of things for every event that occurs in your life daily.

The Importance of Laughter and Tears

Ron grew up in a household where laughter and tears were never expressed. Anger was the main feeling expressed by his mother, while his father was mostly withdrawn.

By the time Ron was eight years old, he had managed to shut off both his laughter and his tears to avoid feeling rejected by his parents and controlled by his mother.

Shutting down was his way of protecting against being invaded by his very controlling mother. He became a serious child – a controlled and controlling child.

Ron grew up, went to college, became a successful lawyer, married and had three children. Yet nothing, not even his deep love for his children, managed to break through his rigid, controlling way of being.

Ron reached out for my help because he was not only very unhappy, but was often in physical pain. All he could say about the physical pain was that he hurt.

“My body hurts. My chest hurt, my stomach hurts, and my back hurts.” He had been thoroughly checked out by a physician and learned that nothing was physically wrong. The doctor told him it was stress.

Ron told me that he spent much of his non-working time daydreaming because when he was present with himself in the moment, all he felt was pain. He had learned to daydream to avoid the pain.

However, Ron was now 48 years old, and the daydreaming was no longer working well. The pain was breaking through, especially in the form of debilitating back pain, so Ron decided he needed some help.

The issue behind Ron’s pain was that his primary intention in his life was to control. He wanted to control how others felt about him.

He wanted to control how well his employees worked. He wanted to control how his wife treated him, as well as how well his children did in school.

He particularly wanted to have control over not feeling the pain of rejection and the fear of engulfnment that he had felt so much in his family.

Ron’s control had worked for him to a certain extent. He was financially successful. He had all the material things a person could want – a beautiful home, a vacation home, a boat, and all the electronics a person could ever use.

He had a wonderful family, and he had good health, other than his pain. Yet he was often miserable.

The problem Ron was facing was that having control was far more important to him than being a loving person with himself and with others.

As a result, Ron felt empty inside and was constantly looking to others to fill him up. He had no interest in taking responsibility for his own feelings – his own pain and joy. He wanted others or things to make him happy.

Imagine how a child would feel if you put him into a box and told him he could never laugh or cry. This is what was happening with Ron.

His Inner Child – his feeling self – was in a box, not allowed to laugh or cry. Laughter and tears are our natural ways of releasing feelings.

Without the God-given gifts of laughter and tears, our feelings get blocked up inside, eventually causing our muscles to go into painful spasms. This is what was causing Ron’s pain. He could no longer put a lid on his feelings without feeling physical pain.

It was a tough battle for Ron. At those moments when he let go of control and opened his heart to love, the pain went away.

But his terror of being rejected or controlled was generally more powerful than his desire to be loving with himself and others, and he would close up in the face of his fears.

He feared that if he opened to his feelings, he would be weak and would be seen as weak, which he feared would lead to both rejection and engulfment.

Ron wanted something he could not have – the illusion of safety that being so controlling gave to him, while not suffering from the physical pain of being so controlling.

After much hard work, Ron finally saw that being loving to himself by letting himself experience his laughter and tears did not cause weakness, nor the rejection and engulfment he feared.

In fact, by being more aware of his feelings and allowing himself to express them, Ron learned that he actually felt safer and more powerful than when trying to control everything.

Laughter and tears are great gifts that allow us to release our feelings in healthy ways.
